Lynette Mason Gregg
Lynette Mason Gregg founded the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1972 with a desire to establish a professional training facility for aspiring dancers and to enrich the overall cultural atmosphere of the community. In 1976, she established the Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre to further that goal. Having been involved with dance since the age of three, she left the Houston area to continue her studies internationally. After a time in Europe and Asia, she established her first school in the Imperial Ballet of Tokyo, Japan. During this time, Ms. Mason Gregg was also exposed to the world famous Kirov and Bolshoi Ballet companies. Prior to returning to Texas, she continued her studies in Washington, D.C. and New York City. Ms. Mason Gregg served as the past president of the Regional Dance America (RDA) Southwest Region and the treasurer of RDA’s National Board. She formerly served as the Gulf Coast Regional Director to the Texas Assembly of Arts Councils and developed a ballet curriculum for San Jacinto College District where she served on the faculty for two years. In 1981, Ms. Mason Gregg was named Outstanding Citizen of Deer Park by the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Mason Gregg has also served on the board of the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County, now known as The Houston Arts Alliance. Ms. Mason Gregg passed away in October 2014.
Nelson Madrigal trained with the Cuban National Ballet School, under the direction of the famous Alicia Alonso. He joined the National Ballet of Cuba in 1994 where he was a distinguished Primeros Bailarines. Madrigal was a principal dancer with Cincinnati Ballet for the 2002-03 Season and then joined Boston Ballet as a Principal Dancer in 2003. Mr. Madrigal’s dancing repertoire is expansive, including every leading role in the classical ballets: Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, Paquita , La Bayadere, Raymonda, Caniparoli’s Lady of the Camellias and The Nutcracker, Bournonville’s La Sylphide, Kudelka’s Cinderella, Ashton’s La Fille Mal Gardée, Cranko’s Romeo and Juliette, Elo’s Plan to B, Eldar Aliev’s 1001 Nights, Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15, Ballo della Regina, Square Dance, Symphony in C, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Serenade, Concerto Barocco, Coppelia, Martins’ Distant Light, Emeralds, The Four Temperaments, Jewels, Mozartiana, Stars and Stripes, Sylvia Pas de Deux, Theme and Variations, Tschaikovsky Pas De Deux, Who Cares, Twyla Tharp’s In the Upper Room, Kylián’s Sarabande, No More Play, Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty and Le Corsaire Pas de Deux among many others. He performed Michel Fokine’s Les Sylphides, Le Spectre de la Rosa, dancing this last piece for the first time with the famous Italian Ballerina, Carla Fracci.
Mr. Madrigal was invited to dance in the Benoit de la dance at the Bolshoi Theater. Spotlighted by Lewis Segal, critic of Los Angeles Times who expressed “…pride of place belonged to Nelson Madrigal as the dancing Master for his brilliant turns and jumps, perfect clarity; whether on the ground or in the air, and disarming modesty. A dancing master indeed.” Mr. Madrigal performed with BAHBT for four seasons as guest artist and relocated from Boston to the Houston area to become BAHBT’s Ballet Master and Artistic Director. Mr. Madrigal has enjoyed creating and staging full-length ballets for BAHBT such as Sleeping Beauty and this past year he enjoyed staging Cinderella alongside Ballet Mistress, Natalie Zundel. Mr.Madrigal has two beautiful children with wife Lorna Feijóo. Their children are the light of their lives.
Natalie Cannon Zundel
Associate Artistic Director
Natalie Cannon Zundel has deep roots with BAHBT. She performed with the company from a young age, became one of their first full-time professional Artists in Residence and came full circle after serving for five years as BAHBT’s Ballet Mistress before becoming the Associate Artistic Director in June of 2016. Ms. Zundel has over ten years of teaching experience in the greater Houston area. Most of which were spent under the direction of friend, mentor and BAHBT’s founder, Lynette Mason Gregg. In 2001 Ms. Zundel received BAHBT’s Helen Mason Scholarship Award: a full scholarship to study in New York City. She also received scholarships and training from The Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. and American Ballet Theater in New York. While dancing with BAHBT she performed coveted roles including Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Katrina in Alan Hineline’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and her favorite role, Giselle. In 2003, she began choreographing professionally for BAHBT with a piece entitled Vienna Waltz. It was given special recognition at the Southwest Regional Dance America Festival Ms. Zundel has enjoyed creating and staging five full-length ballets for BAHBT: Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. She and Artistic Director, Nelson Madrigal, have also choreographed and created two abbreviated ballets for BAHBT: Snow White and Cinderella, which were designed to bring the performing arts into area schools. She is honored to be a part of this company, organization and legacy. In addition to Ms. Zundel’s work with BAHBT, she also serves as Feijóo Ballet School’s Associate Artistic Director and Ballet Mistress. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She and husband Ryan have two beautiful daughters, Madeline Renee and Penelope Anne. She would like to thank her family for their endless love and support, personally and professionally.
Artists in Residence
Maikel Hernandez began dancing at the age of 9 at the Alejo Carpentier School of Ballet in Havana, Cuba. In 2000, he continued his studies and training at the National School of Ballet in Havana. In 2003, he joined the National Ballet of Cuba where he grew from Corps de Ballet to Soloist in 2014, performing important roles in great classics such as Friends in Giselle, Buffon and Neapolitan in Swan Lake, Sancho Panza in Don Quixote, Caraboose Page in The Sleeping Beauty, Waldemar in Cinderella, Saltimbanquis in Shakespeare and His Masks and Beaux, Rat King, and Russian in The Nutcracker, where he received critics’ recognition. He also performed in Eduardo Blanco’s world premiere of La Leyen-da de Agua Grande and as soloist in Tiempo de Danzon. He received technical and artistic training support from renowned instructors such as Loipa Araujo, Josefina Mendez, Aurora Bosch, Svetlana Ballester and Lazaro Carreno. Maikel performed for international choreographers such as James Kelly’s Symphony for Nine Men and the world premier of Throughout your Eyes during the 20th edition of the International Ballet Festival of Havana in 2006. He performed in Maruxa Salas’ Didenoi Dance, winning second place in the Choreography Contest of SGAE, in 2004. His professional career also includes Napoli, Flowers Festival in Genzano, A Concert in Black and White, The Challenge, Theme and Variations, A Rose for Miss Emily, The Awakening of Flora and Cinderella. Since 2005, Maikel has performed internationally with the National Ballet of Cuba in Spain, Italy, Australia, China, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Guyana, Martinique, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and the United States. This is Maikel’s first year with the Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre as an Artist in Residence.
Javier Morales graduated as a dancer and teacher from the National School of Ballet in Havana in 2003, working under the tutelage of various masters like Adria Velázquez, Fernando Alonso, Lázaro Carreño and Ramona de Saa. From 2003 to 2014 he belonged to the National Ballet of Cuba under the artistic direction of Alicia Alonso. He participated in Ballet Festival of Havana several times. During his professional time with this company, he had featured roles in world-renowned classical masterpieces such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and Shakespeare and his Masks. He also excelled in numerous contemporary works by choreographers Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Alberto Mendez, Peter Quans, Jorge Amarante, and Antonio el Pipa. He has danced in the best theaters around the world in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. He reached the rank of First Soloist. He danced the Corsaire pas de deux, among other works with the Classic Ballet of Mazatlan Sinaloa, Mexico. Javier joined BAHBT as an Artist in Residence during the 2015-2016 Season.
Melissa Ludwig trained with the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and joined the company in 2001. Upon graduation, Melissa danced with the Milwaukee Ballet and then joined Ballet Austin in 2004. While dancing with Ballet Austin, Melissa enjoyed performing featured roles in Stephen Mills’ Touch and The
Nutcracker. In 2010, she joined Ad Deum Dance Company, a Christian modern company in Houston, before joining BAHBT in 2012. Since joining BAHBT, Melissa has enjoyed performing roles such as the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Dawn in Coppelia, and Sugar Plum, Snow Queen, and Rose in The Nutcracker. She has also danced as a guest artist with the Masterworks Festival in Indiana, performing lead roles in works by Caleb Mitchell and Steve Rooks, as well as the role of Myrtha in Giselle and Firebird in The Firebird. Melissa was honored to perform the role of The Dying Swan during the 2014-2015 season in BAHBT’s Take Time to Dance, a tribute to Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg.
Laura Massague began dancing at the age of 9 in the Elementary School of Ballet in Havana, Cuba. She then danced in the National School of Ballet, participating and receiving hon- ors in International Concourses. She graduated with Golden Title of Dancer/Professor. At the age of 18, she became a member of Alicia Alonso’s National Ballet of Cuba and danced with them for nearly a decade, joining the Corps de Ballet in 2005. Throughout this time, she danced in countless ballets such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Coppelia, Paquita, Napoli, Les Sylphides, and many other classics. At the same time, she danced contemporary works with the company. Laura participated in international tours to Europe, Africa, Egypt, Australia, and throughout the Americas. She also studied in the Cuban Institute of Superior Arts for 4 years. During her time with the National Ballet, she rose through the ranks of the Corps de Ballet to Soloist. She created her own ballet choreography and took class and rehearsals from famous ballet dancers and professors such as Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso, Loipa Araujo, Aurora Bosh, Svetlana Ballester, Azary Plissetsky, Lazaro Carreño, and others. She is very grateful to the Cuban National Ballet and its entire staff for the experience and lessons she gained. In October 2014 she became a Guest Artist at Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre, becoming an Artist in Residence this past season.
Estheysis Melendez began her ballet training in 1999 at the Vocational Art School “Luis Casas Romero,” continuing onto the Academy “Vicentina de la Torre”. In 2007, Estheysis was invited to join the National Ballet School of Cuba, under the guidance of Ramona de Saá and other outstanding professors. She has received several important distinctions in competitive events, among them, 1st Place in the category, Variations (2005), and 1st Place in the category, Pas de Deux (2008), in the International Encounters of Academies for the Teaching of Ballet Competitions, Havana, Cuba. In 2008, she joined the National Ballet of Cuba and was promoted to First Soloist in 2012. Shortly thereafter, in 2014, she was invited to work under Alicia Alonso’s artistic-technical direction, during which time, she performed a repertoire of classical and contemporary works and danced the principal roles in traditional collections such as Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. In 2015, Estheysis was promoted to Principal Dancer of the National Ballet of Cuba where she was awarded the coveted Female Interpretation Prize 17 and the National Choreographic Concourse from the Cuban National Writer and Artists Union. Estheysis is delighted to join BAHBT for this exciting season.
Meaghan Abel is thrilled about starting her 5th year with BAHBT. A senior at TXVA, Meaghan is the Makenzie Stocker scholarship and Esprit de Corps recipient for 2015-16. She performed in BAHBT’s productions of The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, Hairspray, Bye Bye Birdie and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She studied under Lynette Mason Gregg, Lorna Feijóo, Nelson Madrigal, Natalie Zundel, Olga Kostritzky, Luis Fuente and Nancy Sulik. Meaghan attended The Joffrey Workshop Texas with Susan and Buddy Trevino in 2012 and the American Ballet Theatre’s Intensive in Austin in 2013 and 2014. She had the opportunity to study under Flavio Salazar, Jennet Zerbe and Wes Chapman. The last two summers she was honored to attend ABT’s New York Intensive where she studied under Franco De Vita and Melissa Bowman. She dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Meaghan would like to thank her teachers and family for supporting her.
Kennedy Ballard made his stage debut at 4 as a small party boy in The Nutcracker with BAHBT. Since then, he has garnered an impressive resume. Favorite roles: The Sleeping Beauty (Bluebird), The Nutcracker (Snow Cavalier), Shrek (Donkey), Little Mermaid (Prince Eric), Bye Bye Birdie (Harvey Johnson), Legally Blond (“Kyle” UPS Man), Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere) and Seussical (JoJo) . Other productions: Hairspray, Grease, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oklahoma!, Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia and Cinderella. Kennedy literally grew up in the dance studio with Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg where he trained exclusively until the 2015 summer, when he studied at the prestigious School of American Ballet. At the age of 10, Kennedy had the adventure of his young career as he joined the 1st National Tour of the Broadway smash, Billy Elliot. Tara McCally is a freshman at Texas Virtual Academy and excited for her 3rd year as a BAHBT company member. Her favorite BAHBT productions include her 11th year in The Nutcracker (2015 Snow Queen), along with Anastasia in Cinderella, Dracula, The Sleeping Beauty, BAHBT and The Beatles, BAHBT in the Spotlight, as well as Mollie in Annie and Thing 2 in Seussical. Tara studied at RAFA for 11 years and is now studying at the Feijóo Ballet School. Tara received the coveted 2015-2016 Lynette Mason Gregg SEED scholarship and attended the Harid Conservatory. She has also attended intensives at The School of American Ballet (SAB) in NYC, ABT, Lexington Ballet and Texas Joffrey Workshop. She has enjoyed working with and learning from Kevin Cahoon, Lorna Feijóo, Luis Fuente, Donte Keihn, Olga Kostritzky, Angela Lopez, Nelson Madrigal, Nathalie Marrable, Trinette Singleton, Yusha Marie-Sorzano, Heather Steele and Natalie Zundel. Ms. Lynette inspires her every day.
Katarina Tomasic is very excited to be in her 5th year with the company. She has performed in productions such as The Sleeping Beauty, Dracula, Hairspray, BAHBT in the Spotlight, Take Time to Dance: A Tribute to Lynette Mason Gregg, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cinderella and six seasons of The Nutcracker. Katarina was awarded BAHBT’s Ayman Aaron Harper Scholarship in 2013, which allowed her to travel to New York City to continue her training. Later that summer she attended ABT Austin to further her training. During the summers of 2014 and 2016, Katarina trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the instruction of Darla Hoover, Nikolas Ade, Robert Steel, Rafael Grigorian, Ashley Bouder, Christina Hampton and Patricia Sorrell. She received BAHBT’s, “Grande Esprit de Corps” award in 2015. Katarina would like to thank her teachers, Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg, friends and her family for all of their support and encouragement throughout the years.
Audrey Elizabeth Brown, a junior at Shadow Creek High School, is thrilled to be in her 3rd year with the BAHBT Company. Audrey began her ballet training at the age of 3, studied at RAFA from 2005-2016 and is now training with Feijóo Ballet School. She has performed in a variety of BAHBT productions including Annie, BAHBT & The Beatles, Bye Bye Birdie, Cinderella, Coppélia, Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Seussical, The Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Take Time to Dance and 10 seasons of The Nutcracker, her most memorable roles as “Clara” and “Rose”. She was the recipient of the RAFA 2014 Most Improved Student award and a 2014-2015 SEED Scholarship Recipient. Audrey would like to thank her teachers and her family for their love and support.
Brooke Carothers grew up in Pearland, where she has trained in ballet since the age of 2. She trained for 5 years under Crystal Wooley, Houston Ballet’s Michelle Coomer and John Ruth at Divine Dance Academy, where she now instructs young dancers. In 2015, she continued her training at RAFA. Brooke currently attends the University of Houston where she pursues a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and a minor in dance and is thrilled to join BAHBT for her 2nd season as a Soloist. Her recent performances include BAHBT in the Spotlight, Cinderella, The Nutcracker and Seapony Rages by Dwain Travis at the 2016 Barnstorm Dance Festival. Brooke is thankful for this opportunity to pursue her passion for dance and is proud to share this fabulous season.
Abigail Gorham is excited to be in her 3rd year with the BAHBT company. Abigail trained with RAFA for 12 years, which included 4 years in the Pre-Professional ballet program and is currently training at the Feijóo Ballet School. She has attended RAFA’s summer intensive for 5 years and also attended Pacific Northwest Ballet’s summer intensive in 2015. She also had the privilege of attending Houston Ballet’s summer intensive in 2016. Abigail was a member of RAFA’s Preludes for 3 years. She performed in BAHBT’s productions of Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. She has performed in 5 seasons of The Nutcracker. Abigail was a 2014-2015 SEED Scholarship Recipient. She gives special thanks to her family and teachers for all of their support.
Annalise Jackson is a junior at Clear Creek High School, started at RAFA at the age of 5 and is currently with the Feijóo Ballet School. Delighted to be in her 3rd season as a BAHBT company member, Annalise has performed in various BAHBT productions including Dracula, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie and 9 seasons of The Nutcracker with roles ranging from Gingerchild to Clara. She was honored to be a 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 SEED Scholarship Recipient and has attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre in New York City and at Houston Ballet. Annalise is grateful for her family’s support of her love for dance and gives special thanks to Nelson Madrigal, Natalie Zundel and Heather Steele for their guidance and love. She will be forever grateful to Ms. Lynette.
Rachel Pincus is honored to be in her 3rd year as a BAHBT company member. Rachel is a straight A student in her junior year at Clear Brook High School. She danced with RAFA for 12 years and is beginning her first year at the Feijóo Ballet School. Favorite roles performed include Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. She attended Joffrey’s NYC summer intensive in 2012, American Ballet Theatre’s TX summer intensive in 2013 and 2014, ABT’s NYC summer intensive in 2015 and Bolshoi’s NYC summer intensive in 2016. Macey Westall, a junior at Clear Falls High School and a member of the Clear Falls Choir, began dancing at the age of 3 and is looking forward to her 14th year of dance. She is co-president of BAHBT’s Social Committee. Macey has performed in many BAHBT productions, including Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, Bye Bye Birdie and 10 seasons of The Nutcracker. Macey was the 2014-2015 Lynette Mason Gregg Scholarship recipient. She has attended several summer intensives including American Ballet Theatre at Austin, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City and most recently Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago. Macey is forever grateful to Ms. Lynette, Ms. Natalie, Mr. Nelson, Mr. Ayman, Ms. Heather and Ms. Melissa for their love, support, encouragement and guidance.
Corps de Ballet
Justin Abel is excited to join the company for his 2nd season. A freshman at Clear Springs, Justin started dancing at age 8 and has studied with Lynette Mason Gregg, Natalie Zundel, Nelson Madrigal and Lorna Feijóo. He has been in BAHBT’s productions of The Nutcracker, Edward Scissorhands, Dracula, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Hairspray, Annie, Seussical and Bye Bye Birdie. He has attended The Joffrey Workshop Texas in San Antonio for 3 summers under Susan and Buddy Trevino and attended American Ballet Theatre’s Austin intensive this past summer. Justin would like to thank all of his family and teachers for their love and support.
Isabella Anding, an 8th grader at Bayside Intermediate School, began dancing at the age of 3 and is training at Feijóo Ballet School under the direction of Ms. Lorna Feijóo. She is thrilled to be in her first season as a BAHBT company member. Isabella performed with the RAFA Preludes for 2 years and in various BAHBT productions, such as The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Take Time to Dance, as well as 4 seasons of The Nutcracker. Isabella is forever grateful to God, her family, Ms. Natalie Zundel, Mr. Nelson Madrigal, Ms. Heather Steele, Ms. Melissa Ludwig and Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg for all their encouragement, guidance and support.
Amy Brown, an 8th grader, is excited to be in her 2nd year with the BAHBT Company. Amy began her ballet training at RAFA in 2009 and is now training with Feijóo Ballet School. She has performed in a variety of BAHBT productions including Cinderella, Coppélia, Seussical, The Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Take Time to Dance and 8 seasons of The Nutcracker. Amy also enjoys performing in musicals, her favorite roles being Chip in Beauty and the Beast, Gingy in Shrek and Connie in A Chorus Line. Amy would like to thank her teachers and her family for their love and support.
Taylor Madison Brown is honored to join the BAHBT company. She performed in Cinderella, Thoroughly Modern Millie and 5 seasons of The Nutcracker. Taylor received invaluable instruction from the talents of Kevin Cahoon, Melissa Hale Coyle, Beth Everitt, Lorna Feijóo, Carmella Gallace, Pamela Levy, Olga Kostritzky, Nathalie Marrable, Colleen O’Callaghan, Diane Orio, Abigail Simon, Trinette Singleton, Yusha-Marie Sorzano, Joel Toledo, Vicente Tome, Roger Van Fleteren and the RAFA staff. She has attended summer intensives with ABT, Houston Ballet and Joffrey Texas. Taylor is so grateful for opportunities God has provided, the impeccable ballet instruction from Nelson Madrigal and Natalie Zundel and the guidance and inspiration from Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg.
Katie Buttacoli is a home-schooled 9th grader who is thrilled to be in her 2nd year in the BAHBT company. Katie began dancing at the age of 3 with RAFA, before moving to Ohio and taking dance classes at Mason Dance. After returning to Texas and RAFA, Katie trained with Luis Fuente, Angela Lopez, Natalie Zundel, Heather Steele and many more instructors. She also performed in many BAHBT productions, including Dracula, Cinderella and 8 seasons of The Nutcracker. Katie would like to thank her past and present, dance instructors, her family and her friends for supporting and inspiring her.
Isabella de la Cruz is a freshman at Duchesne Academy and is excited to be in her 2nd year with the BAHBT company. She has been dancing since age of 3 and is currently training at Feijóo Ballet School. Isabella has had the privilege of performing various roles in The Nutcracker, including Clara and has also performed in Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. She has attended Joffrey and American Ballet Theater’s Summer Intensive Workshops in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. Isabella would like to thank God, her family, teachers and many friends for all of their love and support.
Megan Allison Ellis, an 8th grade honor student at Clear Creek Intermediate, began dancing at RAFA at the age of 4. After 2 years in the Trainee program and 2 seasons with the RAFA Preludes, Megan is looking forward to her first year as a BAHBT company member. She has performed in BAHBTʼs productions of The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and 7 seasons of The Nutcracker. Megan is in Production Theatre and is the Encore Choir President in school. Megan thanks Ms. Lynette for being a tremendous inspiration in her life. She is blessed with many talented, dedicated teachers and is grateful for the opportunity to pursue her passion for dance.
Amelie Finn, a 7th grader in the WAVE Program at League City Intermediate, is excited about her first year as a BAHBT company member. She dances at the Feijóo Ballet School under Lorna Feijóo and Laura Massague. She began dancing with RAFA at the age of 4, where she trained in ballet, tap, contemporary and musical theatre. In 2014, she was accepted into RAFA’s Pre-professional/Trainee program, where she trained under Nelson Madrigal, Natalie Cannon Zundel, Laura Massague, Melissa Ludwig, Heather Steele and Angela Lopez. She was a RAFA Prelude in the 2015-2016 season. Amélie has performed in BAHBT’s productions of Cinderella and 2 seasons of The Nutcracker.
Delilah Kaboutari is a 9th grader at Clear Horizons Early College High School. She began dancing at the age of 3 and is looking forward to beginning her 12th year of training. She has trained with RAFA for the past 6 years. She has also participated in RAFA’s summer intensive for 5 years, Joffrey San Antonio for 2 years, Open World Dance Foundation summer intensive in St. Petersburg Russia and ABT – Austin’s intensive this past summer. Delilah is excited to be in her 2nd season as a BAHBT company member. She would like to thank Ms. Lynette, her family and all her dance instructors for their love, support and encouragement.
Sophia Kline began dancing at the age of 3. She is in her 2nd year with BAHBT and is passionate about pursuing a dance career. Now beginning her 13th year of dance, she is thankful for the many opportunities to study under noted dance professionals. She has performed in BAHBT productions including Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, The Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia and 10 seasons of The Nutcracker. The summer of 2016 was spent with ABT in Austin, prior to that she attended Joffrey Workshop Texas for 2 summers. She is grateful to her family and teachers for their encouragement, guidance and support. She is eternally grateful to the Lord for her talent and abilities.
Jasmine Noelle Montalvo is excited to be a BAHBT company member for the very first time! She is a 7th grader at Clear Lake Intermediate. At age 6, Jasmine began dancing at RAFA under the wings of Heather Steele, Natalie Zundel and Nelson Madrigal, to name a few; but her most memorable instructor is none other than Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg, who has inspired her to be the dancer that she is today. She looks forward to taking her dancing to the next level with Lorna Feijóo at Feijóo Ballet School. Jasmine has performed in BAHBT’s Cinderella (Dragonfly), BAHBT in the Spotlight and this will be her 7th season of The Nutcracker.
Sadie Niccum, an 8th grader at League City Intermediate, has been dancing since the age of 4 with RAFA. She is thrilled to transition her training to the Feijóo Ballet School. Sadie has been involved in various BAHBT productions, such as Cinderella, BAHBT in the Spotlight and 9 seasons of The Nutcracker. She feels blessed for the excellent training and life skills she has learned from RAFA and the opportunity she had to train with Lynette Mason Gregg, Nelson Madrigal and Laura Massague. Sadie would like to thank God, her family and her amazing friends for their continuous love and support.
Alexandra Rishikof started dance training at age 3 and joined RAFA when she was 5. She has performed in BAHBT’s productions of Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty and 6 seasons of The Nutcracker. For the last 2 years she has studied ballet under Nelson Madrigal, Laura Massague and Natalie Zundel. She attended two summer intensives with Olga Kostritzky and Yusha-Marie Sorzano and one with Lorna Feijóo and Joel Toledo. Alexandra is in her last year of the WAVE program at Westbrook Intermediate. In addition to dance, she enjoys playing the bassoon and piano. She is excited to be a BAHBT company member and thanks her family, friends and teachers for supporting her.
Reagan Ross is an 8th grader at Bayside Intermediate and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She trained at RAFA for 8 years including 2 years in the Pre-Professional program and 2 years in the Trainee program under Nelson Madrigal. Reagan is excited to begin her first season as a BAHBT company member after 2 years as a RAFA Prelude. She has performed in various BAHBT productions including The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and 7 seasons of The Nutcracker. Reagan would like to thank her supportive family and teachers for helping her get where she is today.
Rachel Stevens is excited to be in her 2nd year as a BAHBT company member. Rachel started dancing at the age of 6 and has performed in many BAHBT productions including Cinderella, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Coppélia, Bye Bye Birdie, Take Time to Dance, The Sleeping Beauty, BAHBT in the Spotlight and 5 seasons of The Nutcracker. Other previous productions include Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line, Little Mermaid Jr., Into the Woods, The Wizard of Oz, Annie Jr., The Music Man Jr. and Aladdin. Rachel would like to give special thanks to her family and all her teachers for their continued guidance, support and encouragement.
Rachel Stonestreet is in her 2nd year as a BAHBT company member. During her 3 years as a dancer, she has had the opportunity to train under Lorna Feijóo, Olga Kostritzky, Angela Lopez, Melissa Ludwig, Nelson Madrigal, Javier Morales, Laura Massague, Heather Steele, Brooke Wilson and Natalie Zundel. Some of her favorite productions are The Nutcracker, Cinderella & BAHBT in the Spotlight. Lindsey Witson is an 8th grader at Lutheran South Academy. She started dancing at the age of 2. She is in her 2nd year as a BAHBT company member. She has performed in BAHBT’s productions of Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, Hairspray, Seussical, Bye Bye Birdie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cinderella, BAHBT in the Spotlight and 7 seasons of The Nutcracker. Kaitlyn Younger is an 8th grader at Clear Creek Intermediate. She began dancing at the age of 3 and came to RAFA at the age of 7. She has enjoyed 5 seasons in various roles in The Nutcracker. She is also a member of the National Jr. Honor Society, the Symphonic Choir and her school’s Production Theatre Arts Program. She is excited to begin her first year as a BAHBT company member. She was blessed to have received training from Ms. Lynette Mason Gregg and the exceptional staff at RAFA. Kaitlyn would like to thank her family, friends and instructors for their love, encouragement and continued support.
Maddie Younker is excited to begin her first year in the company. She is an 8th grader at League City Intermediate in the WAVE program and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Maddie started dancing at age 8 at RAFA. She attended RAFA’s Summer Intensive for 2 years and trained under Lorna Feijóo, Olga Kostritzky, Nelson Madrigal, Yusha Sorzano, Joel Toledo and Vicente Tomé. Maddie performed in BAHBT’s The Nutcracker for 4 seasons and Cinderella (Jaq). She also danced with BAHBT in the Macy’s fashion show at Houston Ballet’s Nutcracker Market in 2015. Maddie would like to thank her family and dance teachers for their guidance and support.
Maria Teresa Grimaldo began to dance at the age of 3 in her native Panama. She joined RAFA at age 7 and currently trains at Feijóo Ballet School. She has performed in BAHBT productions such as Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and 8 seasons of The Nutcracker. She is a senior at Clear Springs High School where she plays the oboe and saxophone with the Charger Band.
Jenna Westall is excited to return for her 5th season with BAHBT! She has been dancing since the age of 2 and aspires to become a professional ballerina. Jenna has appeared in various BAHBT productions. In previous years, she received the Miral Kotb scholarship (2012-2013 and 2013-2014) and the Mackenzie Stocker scholarship.
Ashley Witson is a sophomore at Lutheran South Academy is excited about her 2nd year as a BAHBT company member. Ashley has been dancing since age 2. She has performed in Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Coppélia, Sleeping Beauty, Annie, Hairspray, Seussical, Bye Bye Birdie, and 7 seasons of The Nutcracker. Ashley would like thank all of the BAHBT staff, her family, and Ms. Lynette for their love and support.
Graceanne Becker is excited to begin her first season with the BAHBT company! She began her dance training at the age of 3 and is continuing into her 11th year of training. She has performed in BAHBT’s productions of The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and 7 seasons of The Nutcracker. She has also performed in many RAFA BSW musicals. This past summer Graceanne attended Ballet Austin’s summer intensive. She is currently in the 8th grade at Duchesne Academy.
Trace Campbell, a freshman at Clear Springs High School, started dancing at age 7 at RAFA, where he was a Prelude for 4 seasons. He has trained under Nelson Madrigal, Lorna Feijóo, Heather Steele, Natalie Zundel, Kristen Shiver, Angela Hendrickson, Dwain Travis, Travis Coombs, Kevin Cahoon, Olga Kostritzky, Yusha Marie-Sorzano and Burklyn Ballet Theatre intensive. BAHBT performances include Coppélia, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Take Time to Dance, Hairspray, Bye Bye Birdie, Seussical, Celestial Mechanics and 6 seasons of The Nutcracker. He is thrilled to join BAHBT as a company member and thanks his RAFA and BAHBT teachers and, especially, Ms. Lynette for all they have taught him.
Valerie Codina, an 8th grader at Baylor College of Medicine Academy, is excited to begin her first year as a BAHBT company member. She has been dancing at RAFA since the age of 4 where she has trained with Angela Lopez, Natalie Zundel, Melissa Ludwig, Kristen Shiver, Nelson Madrigal and Heather Steele. She has performed in several RAFA productions including The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland and is looking forward to performing this season with BAHBT.
Jenna Metz is looking forward to her first year as a BAHBT company member. She is a 7th grader at Lutheran South Academy. Jenna began training with RAFA 4 years ago and is thrilled to be starting her first year of training at the Feijóo Ballet School. She has performed with the RAFA Preludes and in BAHBT productions including The Nutcracker, Cinderella and BAHBT in the Spotlight. She is grateful for the training and guidance she has received from Natalie Zundel, Nelson Madrigal, Angela Lopez, Heather Steele and Laura Massague. Chloe Sides is honored and thrilled to debut with BAHBT this season. Chloe began ballet training at age 3 and joined RAFA at age 7. Chloe has performed in RAFA’s productions of Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz. She is grateful to all of her wonderful teachers for their dedication, love and guidance. Chloe is especially grateful for Lynette Mason Gregg, her inspiration. A student of the arts, Chloe is a Spanish speaker in the Two-Way Immersion Program at Clear Creek Intermediate and is a violinist in the Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a 6th year Mandarin Chinese language learner and a Junior National Leadership Alumna.
Annelise Ware has been dancing since the age of 3 and started dancing at RAFA at the age of 4. This will be her 5th season performing with BAHBT in The Nutcracker. She is excited to begin her freshman year at Clear Falls High School and her first year as a new BAHBT company member. Annelise would like to thank her family for all their love, encouragement and support throughout all her years of dance.
Kailey Zatopek is very excited for her first year as a BAHBT company member. She is a 7th grader at Victory Lakes Intermediate School. Kailey has been trained under Natalie Zundel, Nelson Madrigal, Kristen Shiver, Angela Hendrickson, Heather Steele and Travis Coombs, to name a few. She has been in several BAHBT productions including BAHBT in the Spotlight, Cinderella and 5 seasons of The Nutcracker. She trains at RAFA and has performed several times with them as well. Kailey would like to thank the BAHBT staff, RAFA staff and her family for support. She would also like to thank God for her ability and passion.
